Everything here at Watermarks

Yes, we know, people say we're crazy

In 2004, Travis & Angie Critzer had a crazy vision. To drop everything that was going on and build a christian camp for young people so that they could experience Jesus. Since that day, we have been praying and following God and that vision has become a reality. Since 2004, Watermarks has been a place of refuge, peace, and rest for students all over the country. We are a year-round, 501(c)(3) non-profit camp that is dedicated to seeing lives changed by Jesus and people getting an experience to get to know him more. Located in the quiet town of Scottsville, Va, Watermarks is a peaceful place where you can enjoy all that God has created, but not be too far removed from the world around. From 2004, we've come from tent camping to now in 2018, we now have 18 fully heated and A/C cabins, 3 meeting spaces for sessions, a full kitchen and dining hall, 3 challenge courses, a high ropes course, shooting/driving range, campfires, the blob, water slides, ziplines & trampolines, custom Watermarks games, and so much more!

Our vision here at Watermarks is to make your stay with us unforgettable. From our top-notch staff that want to be apart of your students lives, to the crazy games and activities, moments of worship and time with God, and to our tasty food, we want you to be completely taken care of. We provide you with the highest caliber of service during your stay and you to leave fully refreshed and ready to go back into your reality. Here at Watermarks, there isn't a set way of doing things, we want you to have the experience you want for your students and we want to help you in any way possible!

STEWARD HOUSE internship program

About the Steward House

The Steward House is a new 2-year internship opportunity implemented at Watermarks Camp in order to help students discover their true, God given calling for their life. Through serving, gaining a higher education from a local or online college and living in a community of believers, this opportunity does exactly this. We want to develop Christian leadership qualities, servant-hood, and teamwork in order to send our students into a world that is desperately needing it.

You will have the opportunity to serve at camp, and in a local church. This will provide you a window to see the heartbeat of how camp and church operates and your role in that. You will be living on camp property along with other interns and will grow together, building a bond that will last a lifetime. No matter where you feel called, there is a place for you here.

Serving Requirements

One thing we really believe in order to build a solid future is through serving. We believe that the local church has the power to change lives and our communities, so with that we have developed a system of serving times where you can serve at camp and in many areas of the local church. You get to serve for two hours at camp in a chosen area and at our local church for two hours in a chosen department.

Watermarks Camp

The students at the Steward House are the hands and feet of the daily operation at Watermarks. You get to serve and learn the ends at outs of what it takes to keep Watermarks running. You will also get a job, working weekends and when Watermarks is in operation. This will provide you with monetary support and experience in life. With doing the internship and working at Watermarks, the Steward House also prepares you up to apply to be on the summer staff at Watermarks if you're feeling led.

Local Church

You get to serve in some of the many departments in the church and really get plugged into what God is doing in the church. You get to learn the ins and outs of how the church functions and your role in that.

Here are the areas you can choose from to serve in:

-Multimedia, Sound and Lighting

-Worship                 -Marketing

-Youth                     -Church Planting

-Children                 -Missions and Outreach

-Finance                  -Pastoral Care and Prayer

the gathering women's retreat

You know the feeling of curiosity that comes with something new and exciting…The feeling of utter fascination, anticipation, and WONDER? If so, then you also know the feeling of regret, disconnect, and eagerness that can be found in our hearts when we “don’t have time” to pursue that very same thing. How many of us can honestly say we have experienced this in our faith? How many of us can honestly say that we are sitting in this very season right now? How do we revive our WONDER for the Lord? Join us, as a body of women, as we learn how to stir up our Wonder and eagerness for the Lord again. Whether you’re a stay at home mom, a sorority sister, married-divorced-or still single, an entrepreneur, a grandmother, or even a fashionista, this retreat is for you. It’s for any and every woman who needs a pick me up, a refreshing of their faith, a community, and a weekend away with the girls! We are anxiously awaiting your arrival and have saved you a seat at The Gathering!
